Chances are, you just can’t compete. It’s great that you read quickly. It’s wonderful that you read so much. It’s absolutely grand that you love reading.</p> <p>But I work in a place filled with books and because of that I tend to go home to a house filled with books. I have a lurking fear that, on my death bed, my last words will be “But I haven’t finished this chapter.” So be happy with your books and with what you read. Don’t waste your time with lousy books when there are so many good ones out there.</p> <p>But don’t brag to librarians about the amount of material you read through in a given time. For you, books are entertainment or perhaps books are your passion.
